Access to Doctors
In keeping with Government guidelines, we are aspiring towards an appointments’ system that allows access to a doctor or nurse within 48 hours. It is unusual for you not to be able to be seen within this time-scale but if your condition is urgent we will always see you anyway.
Surgery Appointments
Doctors Surgeries are held five days a week, Monday to Friday in both the morning and the afternoon. Consultations with a Doctor or Nurse are by appointment. We have tried to adapt our appointments’ system to suit our patients’ needs and offer both pre-bookable appointments and book on the day appointments. For all appointments, please telephone 01227 374040. You can book appointments up to 4 weeks in advance if this is more convenient to you.
Telephone Consultations
We also offer telephone consultation appointments on a regular basis. You may prefer to consult your Doctor by telephone if you do not need to be examined. These appointments can be booked in the usual way by phoning the Surgery. The Receptionist will ask you for the telephone number that you wish the Doctor to call you on which can be a land line or a mobile number. She will advise you approximately what time to expect the telephone call which is usually within a 2 hour 'window'.
Chaperones
The Practice is committed to putting patients at ease whenever possible and will always ask you if you would like a chaperone to be present during intimate examinations. It may not always be possible for a chaperone to be provided immediately but a mutually convenient appointment can be arranged.
